Anna Brittain | Executive Director at Napa Greenย
Anna Brittain has worked locally, nationally and internationally on environmental management and policy. She has spent more than a decade working as a sustainability consultant with the wine industry, with an expertise in communications and certification standards. Anna has a Masterโs of Environmental Science & Management from the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara. Her mission is to spread the message that sustainability is sexy.
Ben Mackie | Vineyard Program Managerย atย Napa Green
For the past 15 years, Ben has been designing and implementing regenerative farming systems in a variety of ecosystems. Ben has been managing farms, improving soils, and educating the next crop of environmental stewards with a holistic view of farming with natural systems. No stranger to Napa, he previously lived on Mt Veeder, where he fell in love with the oak and madrone woodlands and made friends with the local ravens. When Ben is not helping Napaโs vineyards adopt 21st century practices, he is spending time with his impressive wife and two wild children in the woods and on the water. Ben currently occupies Nisenan Territory and is a proud alumnus of Sterling College in Northeast Vermont, where he received a BA in Sustainable Agriculture.
Aron Weinkauf | Winemaker & Vineyard Manager at Spottswoode
As both vineyard manager and winemaker, Aron Weinkauf carries on a rich tradition at Spottswoode of embracing an interconnected view of winemaking that has deep roots in environmentalism and the belief that wine is made in the vineyard. In his dual role, Aron leads and works alongside the wineryโs in-house vineyard team to achieve the full potential of the Spottswoode Estate Vineyardโs 24 individual blocks. In addition to being the steward of Spottswoodeโs legendary vineyard, Aron ensures that each wine authentically reflects its vintage and vineyards, and that it is true to the elegant, energetic, and age-worthy style for which Spottswoode has been recognized since 1982.

Napa Greenโs vineyard team is trained to develop regenerative, whole-farm Carbon Farm Plans (CFPs). These plans review all of the current beneficial practices that are increasing soil and ecosystem health and storing carbon, and identify additional opportunities to regenerate the soil and vineyard ecosystem and simultaneously maximize carbon capture in a given property. Each vineyardโs goal is to become carbon neutral (or negative) and increase the resilience of vineyards, businesses, and our community.

All of our members are committed to using at least 60% renewable energy, whether through on-site solar and other renewable sources or by working with @mcecleanenergy to access clean power through the grid. The impact? Over 1.2 million pounds of CO2e saved by wineries and vineyards in just one year. To put that into perspective itโs the equivalent to offsetting the emissions from driving over 1.5 million miles in a typical gas-powered car!
